Hi all,
Does anyone know where the subject information is located?
One of the financial service companies we uses can use facial ID or
fingerprints to log on but it has to be turned on in your device first.
Can't find that anywhere, if it even exists. Searched on facial ID and fingerprint but nothing.
Thanks...Ken

You will find facial ID under Face ID and Password in Settings.

Thanks.....found it and here's what I get......

Place your finger.
Release your finger.
Cover the whole button.
Use a different finger.

Repeat, repeat, repeat with the same results each time.
No results!!
This button doesn't stick out far enough to make any serious contact!!
It’s an indentation. Are you deliberately making sure every bit of the pad of your finger remains in contact for a second or two?

Tried numerous times with numerous fingers. It's just to far in for any substantial contact.
I also don't see how a thin rectangle can see a fingerprint? Maybe a slice of one!

The Home Button is round. You may be trying to hold your finger in the wrong place.

A few of the newer iPads have the fingerprint sensor on the power button. It works fine on my iPad Mini.

The button should not be indented, but slightly raised. At least it is on my iPad Mini. Are you using a case? If so, try removing the case while you set the fingerprint. Also, don't press down on the button, just rest your finger on it.

It is pretty important to follow the instructions. The process goes on for quite a while. You'll be instructed to use the edge of your finger at some point, which is how it gets the entire finger, eventually.

Once you get the fingerprint registered, you'll usually have to sign into the bank the old way first, then enable fingerprint/face ID. That varies app to app.

Here is a link to Apple's instructions.

And another article on what to do if it still doesn't work.

Finally worked....
It seems the hold finger, release finger was part of the routine length.
I thought.....release finger.... indicated it was done.
I never realized it was part of the process to get it to work.
Nothing I read indicated that!
I did see in your last post where you mentioned......it takes a while..... so that gave me a hint!
Thanks, Ken
