In an exclusive report, 9to5 Mac says that it has heard from sources that Facebook is currently working on an iPad version of its Facebook Messenger app. The source has even given them an in-depth look at a beta version of the new app, which it says will be very familiar to users of the iPhone Facebook Messenger app, as it's pretty much a larger version of that app, featuring one-to-one messaging, group chat capabilities, push notifications, friend locations on maps, and more besides. The introduction of a Facebook Messenger app for iPad means that iPad users can message their Facebook friends without even having to use the Facebook iPad app. 9to5 Mac also has pictures of the app, which show it in all its glory (see above). No word as yet as to when the app will be released, or if in fact it will even be released to the general public at all. All we know so far is that 9to5 Mac says that it is definitely in development, with new builds being tested often.
