enormous Keyboard!

Im having an issue using certain chat apps like Skype, the keybord zooms in so big that all I can see are the letters QWERTASDFZXC
Ive turned off all options in the general keyboard settings, and Ive tried every pinch and zoom and reset and reinstall trick i can think of. wether landscape or portrait, I cant log in to these apps at all let alone chat.
Obviously, the keyboard works fine on websites.

It doesn't look like you use the built in keyboard. Which one is installed on your iPad? Perhaps you have to change a setting for that keyboard, if that's possible.

I tried turning off all the adons and used the regular keyboard, I still get this

You're using the iPhone app. Did you try installing the iPad app? Is the issue the same there?

If you want to keep using the iPhone app, decrease the size of the screen image. Hopefully you'll be able to see the whole keyboard afterwards.

i didnt notice that. wierd. reinstalling skype from the app store fixed that, but i dont think there is a kik for ipad. maybe theres a mini keyboard app?

Kik is an iPhone only app - there's no version for the iPad.

No idea whether or not there's a small keyboard. You'll have to search for it in App Store. I've found some apps which you can use when typing with one hand, but I don't know if they'll help.
