Does iPhone 4 sim work in iPad 3G?

I couldn't find a definitive answer to this question, so has anyone here tried to put your iPhone 4 micro-sim in an iPad 3G?

If so, did it work and let you use your iPhone data plan?

I have got answer myself :), might help you guys ;)

T3 has clearly revealed the truth that the iPhone 4 micro SIM can’t be attuned with iPad.
And as you want to swap the SIMS then insert iPhone SIM into the tablet to leech off its 3G network potentialities under your mobile contract’s data allowance. It is clearly mentioned that the micro-SIMs for the iPhone are made to permit voice calls, SMS messages as well as data functionality, however the iPad micro-SIM is purveyed to allow pay-as-you-go data transfer only.

I just tried this. It works, but you have to make some changes to the APN. Going to Unlockit - APN Changer for your iPhone on the ipad will help you out. This is a legit site, its been around for a long time. It allows you to install a custom profile on the iPad which changes the APN.

Change the carrier to AT&T. Go to customer APN, put the word "phone" (without the quotation marks) in the APN line. Make username and password blank. Touch create profile and then touch install to install the profile to the iPad.

Next, put your iPhone 4 sim in and voila, you have 3G data. Word of caution though, AT&T knows that you did this. I just did it to try it out and later that evening I got an email from AT&T saying they noticed I put my iPhone sim in the iPad and I had 30 days to put an eligible plan on my iPad or they would shut off my data entirely.

Any questions, please ask. Myself, it seems like a lot of trouble. I would just rather pay the 24.99 for data for the month or wait until they have the personal hotspot on the iPhone4 and tether that way.
