Did I Read This Right?

I read somewhere that one of the features of ios6 is that you no longer have to enter your password when downloading apps. Is that true? I hope so. That's a really annoying thing.

I believe that is correct, but limited to free apps and updates.

I thought that was not confirmed - anyway, IMHO the first installation of an app should always require the password, free updates could be very well be without...

The "no password needed" change in iOS 6 is related to two things: (1) Downloading previously purchased apps (free or paid) and (2) updates to existing AppSync the iDevice.
