Deleting ookmarks from iPad3

Can anyone tell me how to permanently remove bookmarks in safari on an ipad3?

Hi,
Tap the book icon in the Safari toolbar on the right of the website input box. In that window, click the book icon at the bottom. Slide your finger on the bookmark and press delete.
