Copy my iPad photo to USB Drive

Hi all,

My hard disk damage , now I just format my NB and install Itune.

My question is I don't want to lost my iamge which link to map.

May I know how to copy these photo to USB storage app ? So that after sync I will not lost these photo.

Also may I ask will I be able do a back up before I sync ?

What it the best approach ?
