As anyone been using Cloud On? I'm trying to find a way to attach an Word Doc in CloudOn to an email in Mail!
I can send it to Dropbox but I'm unfamiliar with how to attach the document.

I'm new to the iPad and this forum so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm trying to sort it out directly from CloudOn. In the meantime, I've found a workaround. I download the same document in GoodReader (also linked to DropBox) and email it from there. Easy. But I'd love to know a better approach from within CloudOn.

I you use the DropBox app (on the iPad) to create a share link and email that, it would be even quicker, and more convenient to the recipient (most of the time).

The only other method (at this time) would be what mmessenger recommended. Download the document to the iPad from DropBox using GoodReader (or some other app), then mail it from that app.

Eventually CloudOn is supposed to add a paid service similar to OnLive Desktop Plus. When that happens you'll probably get a web browser. It should be possible to use that to go to a webmail site and email attachments directly. Until then, DropBox is your only link to get documents on/off your CouldOn account. There is no way (that I know of) to mail documents from DropBox, just share links.

Most of the time the share links are better anyway. The recipient has a choice of when to download the files, and because the email only contains the link it is small, and gets delivered quickly.

This is why you want to be using a native app. CloudOn is essentially a remote desktop connection to a windows machine that has MS Office installed - it's not actually running on your iPad directly. And MS Office was never designed to work with the iPad at all, which you see integration problems like this. There are many apps on the app store which provide similar functionality but run directly on the iPad itself, and are thus specifically designed to integrate closely with iOS. Most of these provide an "email document" functionality.
