When the charging reaches 100% does it do any harm to leave it on charge, I don’t mean for a long time but say for an hour or so?

I don't think it is a problem, normally there is a circuit that controls the battery and prevents overcharging it when you let the charger connected.
I think Apple included it on every Gadget and/or Notebook.
