Camera on ipad2

I have had my new ipad2 for a couple of weeks, I am finding the pictures and video I'm taking to be quite grainy, any suggestions as to why this is? Am I doing something wrong? There doesn't seem to be anything in settings to help re: the camera. Help please.

Thats just the quailty of the cameras on the iPad. The "HD" portion of the camera is really only for facetime or video shooting.

The camera is best suited to as much natural light as you can throw at it to minimise grain. Out door shots are generally less grainy than indoor.
