ah..I have been turning BT off in control center. I shall amend my ways. Thank you!
Hi Padcatt - just curious how often and why you feel the need to turn off your iPad's radios and the device? Wife and I both have iPads and iPhones and either just let each sleep or put on overnight charge - some discussion HERE; and sure others may 'chime in' with their own opinions. DaveWhen I shut down the iPad, I always turn off wifi and BT. When I power back up, BT is on. Is this the way the iPad is programmed to behave? Is there a way to set BT not to be on when the iPad is powered up
Hi again Padcatt - before responding, I wanted a few more forum members to 'chime in' with comments - this has been a contentious issue for years (proven easily w/ a little googling - this LINK is just one example). For my wife and myself, I'll continue to leave our devices on and in 'sleep' mode when not in use; plus, I really doubt that what the tech told you is an official policy of Apple, but his or her own opinion, just my guess. So, 'to each his own' - take a look at the link - what you are doing is not a problem but just not needed nor a preserver of your battery and equipment. Davegiradman;
It’s battery conservation. I power down when I’m done, not just for the day. I’d had a support call for my M1 Mini and the Sr tech person said that Apple advises powering down rather than sleeping - to extend the life of the device. I am way into extending the lives of my devices.
I had been merely turning off the radios and “sleeping” the iPad so that all I had to do was open the lid and be ready to rock.
