Seriously 10 silver medals from contests!? I've tried a few but unless you cheat, have a s! ton of disposable income to waste on this game or stay up for days on meth it's impossible to compete with those who do all that.

This might be the thing that pushes me off the game for good. 10 medals?!? I've enjoyed this tower quest because it was attainable. Finding out that I've wasted all this time on it as me so mad.

Are these the silver medals you get on the timed daily contests or the ones that normal players can't possibly win? Yeah I got my Russian building this morning. I know I won't finish it. I don't have enough shops to make all the stuff. I think you would need a boat load of farms, etc. to do it. And I do have a life outside of this game.

Is there a difference between the timed daily contests and the ones normal players can't possibly win? I'm a normal player and have tried the timed daily contests and haven't come close. I have 5 farms and participated in the berry contest and wasnt even close to the last player. Had 3 confectionary plants when they ran the dough contest and was 30 off from the last place player...30 is a lot to be off from. Either those people have cheat bots running or constantly spend money to instantly complete items. Or both.

OH I see what you mean....the daily tasks you get from the people running around in your town. Those are labelled as coins so I don't think this are the medals. I hope that is what is needed for the tower quest though. I'll take back my hissy fit if that is the case. If it's the medals then I'm still mad lol.

It started for me. It is timed. It looks like I have about three days to produce 36 cacao beans, 22 calendars, and 40 fish. I think I can make it with the factories I have, but just barely. I wonder if this one is scaled to what you have in your city.

Well, today it started for me as well. 54-22-20. I'm not even gonna try. If it had started late Friday or early Saturday, I've might have had a chance to complete. But during the week... Work, kids, husband.... Not much, and surely not enough, time for Big Business

Mine just started...45:22:100. Wonder why everyone has different amounts. I have 5 farms and 2 each of ranches and paper mills. Am a level 40. I'm not even going to attempt it, it doesn't seem plausible.

I agree with you..not even going to try it. Not worth the stress. If it started on the weekend then maybe but I don't have the ranches or farms or paper mills nor the time to buy and upgrade them all. It is all but impossible to complete this task for a normal player.

From the figures I guess that the amounts are based on the rule
cacao-beans: (number of farms)*9
calendars: (number of paper mills)*11
fish: (number of ranches)*20

Wait, the rule makes no sense if you only have 2 ranches. I have 3 ranches and I have to produce 60 fishes ...

Unfortunately yes 10 silver medals. It takes a little work and luck but u can get in the top 100 for 2 silvers without cheating or spending real money. I am selective on which contest I work on and when I do I get in the top 100 about 70% of the time.

Sorry to say but it is the contest silver medals not the daily quests. U need to get in the top 100 for 2 of them.

I know the feeling about those cheaters. They irritate me cause those contests shoul be fair for everyone. But it is the the silver medals u win by getting in the top 100 of the contest.

This forum is great!!! Solved a lot of my questions about secret achievements. User ID is Fred Diggitz in the game if anyone wants to add me.

Just finished Number of the Beast and Leave Me Alone achievements. Those were just plain evil. Started seeing mangoes and coconuts in my sleep. Took 2 weeks with 7k starting pop and 4 taxis. The good news is getting the total back up to maximum is MUCH faster.

I agree the special quests and contests are stupid. Downright impossible for people with job/kids. I just ignore them since I don't plan on ever spending a penny of my own money on this game.

Next goal: finishing the Eiffel Tower quest by 2014!

I agree, it does take a bit of work but it's not impossible. I am also selective and I don't have 10 farms and ranches. I have 4 silver medals and have spent another dozen that I won on gift items. I have never been higher than 30 but am often in the 50-100 placing when I try to be.

I started at 60k. I'm now around 16k and had to put sending transport on hold while I upgrade the terminal because (thanks to this forum), I know the next task will require avocados. At about 2k reduction per day, it should take more than a week to get population down to zero. It also means that whatever building is required for cheesecake will have to wait until after I have finished number of the beast and leave me alone!
