Big Business - game discussion

Glad to keep you motivated. I am just below 34k now. I have slacked off b/c I am trying for one more avocado and using busses. Once I get that last elusive one. I will drill it down with taxis. Keep up the good work your doing!

You're motivating me as we'll Gab. I am down to 45k. I also have 8 avocado. I still need 6 books, but I am getting there. My big problem will be the medals. I already have keys waiting, and I am producing jam as well, but those medals worry me.

I'm trying the contest today.. I'm off work and there is 21 hours left to produce... At an hour a time I could potentially produce 21 ( if I didn't sleep lol ) going to aim for about 15 I think.

Best of luck! I will warn you that I didn't start to place until I had at least two factories producing the product, but hope you make it!

I'm loving how many coconuts and mango my taxi runs are producing today..

Taking forever for my ET task as training them workers takes forever!! In the meantime I'm concentrating on making money and loving the 5 min milkshake and coconut flakes.

If anything I'm just having a go, don't expect to place anywhere although would be nice, I just want to take part in it. If anything it's worth it to make profit on them after all it would be around the 45k mark for a days producing.. That would do nicely for an upgrade somewhere.

Still very basic level where I'm not able to produce everything and tasks are taking forever so for now its about profit producing to enable other tasks to be completed a little quicker rather than having to make the money first.

What level are you? I made mistakes purchasing some factories as they became available.

For example the toy factory...IMO it was a waste at the time. You need the oil refinery, paper mill AND sawmill to make the toys at the toy factory....which all use 8 trucks and given the time and materials aren't cost effective. Some of the profits GI has established make no sense, but I think the ones at the toy factory are the worst. One of the toys at the factory that takes the shortest amount of time to produce requires a fully upgraded oil refinery which is like a $720k upgrade from level 4. Not to mention you need fuel and wood trucks to operate the refinery and sawmill! I'm not suggesting don't get the factory, but I wouldn't recommend it until you have money freely pouring in....

...like from the food mill, which I wish I had purchased as soon as it was available. It too requires a few buildings (ranch upgraded to make meat), dairy farm (for cheese), farms (fruit) and a paper mill upgraded for paper as well as 8 trucks, but the production time and profit is good IMO and by the time you're able to buy it the buildings and trucks you need to operate it shouldn't be an issue.

Although the mine uses the same dump trucks you're quarry uses (so you may not be able to operate both at same time like I chose to do things) I highly recommend this factory. It's pure profit....nothing but the dump trucks are needed to produce things. With 3 dump trucks you can make sand in 10 min for about 500 profit or salt in 30 min with an upgrade and 4 trucks for about 700 profit. I wish I had this one sooner, I run it all day bc it requires little attention and no ingredients.

The weaving factory is good, belts take only 10 minutes, do however require 6 trucks but only need 2 flax (farm) and 1 leather (ranch) for about over 1000 profit. I've slowly upgraded this building and as I was saying some profits make no sense....I just fully upgraded my ranch to make down and just fully upgraded the weaving factory to make pillows with the down. The down takes 4 hours ( yield 1600 profit and uses 4 trucks to make) and the pillows (1 down, 2 cotton, 7 trucks) take 12 hours for over 4000 in profit. For the time it takes to make the pillows the profit doesn't match IMO.

The premium factories I bought are the waffle factor and bakery. You'll need the bakery to produce the croissants for the special achievement. Both factories require farms and the waffle factory requires a paper mill and confectionary factory for the sugar and dough production. Both premium factories I believe were good purchases...fast yields and steady profits.

Speaking of the confectionary factory....which I had purchased more than 1 earlier than I did. Which in turn means more than 1 dairy farm. Many times I could have used it...early on I was making muffins like crazy. They have a pretty solid yield considering what you need and how long they take.

Hope that helps...pretty soon a daily profit of 45k will seem like pennies!

PS I continue to crank out drivers so I can upgrade my terminal without delay. You might consider making one a night...you'll need about 50+'of them to upgrade the terminal to level 10, which is when you'll be able to get avocados. And pump out workers and engineers...you'll need them for the tower quest and with the list everyone has made you know exactly how many. Being able to instantly complete those tasks is nice! You have unlimited storage for staff (or so I believe) so the head start is nice, especially for terminal upgrades. Too many times I couldn't send out cars bc I was waiting to train drivers.

I'm 32% into level 18.

Totally agree with you that's some factories have no point at the start, and you can quiet easily escalate and have your fingers in too many pies. I like to be organised in my gameplay. I could have purchased quite a few things at a time but it would mean I had to much going on with so little rewards.

Currently have:

3 farms lvl 6
Ranch lvl 2
Dairy lvl 2
Milling plant lvl 5
Confectionary lvl 4
2 paper mills lvl 1-3
Terminal with 3 trip spots ( microbus and taxis)
College lvl 2 ( 9 drivers and 4 workers so far)

Making milkshakes 5 mins a time / 1730 that's 20k an hour if enough supplies ( I have loads of bananas coming out terminal)
Sugar cubes 10 mins a time /1170

Producing coconut flakes ( again terminal good at giving me coconuts) 5 mins making me 2690 which is 32k an hour!!!!!

Also producing fruitcake 5 mins / 1640

I'm also liking cheese production...

I have 12 trucks and 5 milk trucks and if cleverly timed I'm doing ok on that amount at present.

Don't plan on purchasing anything else just upgrading as and when my profits come in.

I made the same mistake. But I have a pretty good system going now. 4 farms and 2 of each building up through Dairy Factory.

IMO, don't bother with buildings above dairy factory until later in the game. They are expensive to upgrade and require lots of trucks to operate. The high level items at the low level buildings have almost the same profit margin at a much lower initial cost.

Nice! I also like the free fruits from the terminal. You've got a good collection going...before you add new factories I think you should get 2 more milling plants, 1 more each ranch, dairy and confectionary. And definitely plan on constantly upgrading that garage...it's a PITA bc it's expensive and time consuming, but if you neglect it you'll be needing to do many upgrades in a row to make it.

I'm working on the cookie contest today too, hope we both make it!!

Depends what time I have I don't mind doing the shorter productions and selling on constantly.. Soon adds up

Your outlook on the higher level buildings is so true, but unfortunately some ended up being game changers for me. Which ones are available to you? I wish I had known what ingredients were needed to produce some of the items from the higher level factories bc I'd buy one and it would sit bc a lower level factory wasn't upgraded or I didn't know I'd need a new type of truck. Those are definite factors to considering before making the plunge.

Absolutely! I wish I had had as many taxis as you do back then (I'm lvl 43) bc they help with profits. And you were right when you said taxis are more bang for the buck...if you can keep an eye on sending them out. Now that I've switched to taxis my population is cruising on down.

Just keep in mind that the faster you're able to build more of the basic mills, plants and farms the faster you'll gain experience to level up and get the buildings that will have you raking up a million coins inno time. It's funny, I used to get flustered with an upgrade that cost 50k....now my upgrades cost 500k plus!

I only opened the 3 slots up to get that ZERO population achievement done ... Now I'm just doing the trips for the coconuts mangos and bananas lol

I have 5 open (run double decker and red bus in hopes for an avocado, futile hopes) with 3 taxis. I have 72,000 more people to get out....going to take forever!!! It's totally messing up my ability to swap out factories etc from storage which I used to do all the time. Now that my population has dropped so low I can't do that anymore :( I haven't placed in top 100 in a while bc of it. I need 5 more medals too!

Looking thru the contracts tab helps to see what's available to produce with future upgrades and also what's transport is needed.
