Update from those of us not working on bridges, ports, or hydro plants:

I got two gold beams for the ET from the same city on the same day. Crazy.

I'm digging this muffin contest. No hope of placing with only 4 farms and 2 confectionary plants, but piling up coins in a hurry.

I am now over 24 hours into the Find Steel Detail challenge for the port and still not had a single drop, but in what time I have had 3 pizzas for the ET challenge. By my reckoning with 4 days to go I am going to need around 10 drops a day so it is not looking possible with 0 from the first day. I am waiting for the first collection from my level 2 donut shop to see if that helps.

Update for you all, level 2 of the donut cafe had no effect, and so as a last ditch attempt I tried an instant complete via speed up which also didn't work so looks like the task is impossible to complete inside the time limit. Next step is to raise a support request to find out what is going on.

In a perverse way that makes me feel better as I only have 12 donut shops and played all day, but got no drops and none yet this morning. I am now upgrading one of the donut shops to level 2 and will see if that makes a difference. I also read that someone started getting drops once they were able to gift their friends, unfortunately I visited all my friends maps and maxed out the cleaning and gift giving just before I started this challenge so am hoping that I will get some drops later today when I an start that again.

Let me make you feel even better Not one drop yet today... So I'm on six pieces and have been collecting for four days.... Just no point in getting upset really.

Incredibly I have had another 2 pizzas in the last hour, so the ET challenge is going well, still no steel though. I have raid a support request suggesting there is a bug as I am sure it is designed to be possible. I will post their reply

Alright, here is my plan if I decide to start the bridge quest tomorrow.

Meet 100 journos -- how hard could that be? Tap tap tap.
5 eclairs -- already in WH
Accumulate 100000 -- I assume you need to have at least 100000, not "to earn 100000" after you get the quest. In this case it makes sense to have a few expensive items in WH and postpone money collection from the buildings.
Plant 10 trees -- can build only 5 structures but have 3 free slots in storage and can demolish a couple of palm trees. Then I will plant/demolish the trees on a hill.
Build 4 bookstores -- I have more than that.
Increase pop 200 -- no problem
Hire 8 engineers -- I have 13 and keep training them.
Build lvl 2 solar plant -- I demolished one of my plants and built another one, ready to be upgraded to lvl 2. It takes 7 hrs. Speeding up is optional.
Produce 5 marble -- already in WH
Produce 10 scaffolds -- already in WH
Collect 10 hard hats -- I accidentally sold 10 apple pies yesterday so I am baking more today, have to use one farm for grain and fruit while 9 others produce cacao beans.
Upgrade admin one level -- being upgraded as we speak, 31 hours left. I will need to coordinate the solar plant upgrade with admin upgrade. Should not be a problem.
Produce 15 ad posters -- already in WH
Accumulate 1000 energy -- totally makes sense to invest credits to have more time for the tasks you cannot control
Extinguish 5 fires -- my city is burning non-stop after the upgrade.
Pay 10 engineers 10000 each -- no problem.
Produce 5 solvents -- already in WH
Have 10 welders -- I have only 6 now but I will have 10 by that time
5 hammers -- I have 35
8 business cards -- minimum 4 days, maximum -- who knows.
3 compasses from the bookstores -- luck
3 silver medals -- 2 days
Spend 100000 on gifts for the low-level friends -- hopefully doable

Now, it is all based on the assumption that all the required items can be produced in advance. The best case scenario: the last two stages take "only" 6 days to complete. It can take much longer. So, it looks like I should not spend more than 2 days on the first 3 stages.

Any comments? Suggestions? Advice?

Sorry guys that was my fault I completely forgot about the energy part so plz forgive. Now back to the game just vented on Facebook about the silver metal problem I have. May start hitting the App Store with negative reviews if GI don't fix this because all if us deserve a fair chance and can't have there glitches screw us. And I hope it is a glitch and not intentional cause that is messed up.

2.5 hours into the quest, 73/100 journos, 5 eclairs accepted but still clog the WH. The energy requirement undermined my ability to use WH and prod facilities efficiently; my storage capacity is 102 and it is full -- 99/102. I cannot collect/ sell expensive goods until I proceed to the next stage. Moreover, since the wiki page does not specify what " accumulate 100K" means, I have to assume I need to add 100000 to my account so, just in case, I haven't collected taxes. My economy came to a screeching halt and my income dropped.

I apologize for not returning gifts right away. I could do only 4 this morning. I still have 9 uncollected gifts (if I take them I would never remember) but I ran out of my free gifts for now. This gift system sucks big time.
