Big Business - game discussion

Well those business cards for the bridge are going to take 4 days 1 per daily task so off to work on the port. May have to spend more city credits to make it in time but at 10 credits per card ill see.

Hello all,
Just wanted to say a quick hello and thanks those of you who already accepted friendship requests in the past week or so. Am fairly new to the game – discovered it just as the Valentine's Day stuff was coming to an end – so am nowhere near as far along as most of you; am still desperately saving for my next big factory (furniture factory), and the recent update came as quite a shock as I thought I was getting along pretty nicely :-).
How's it going with those of you who are now expanding into the new territories? Does the cost of these keep going up exponentially? I dread to think what the price will be by the time it comes to buying the final square patches! Also, does the amount of population required to build a new facility drop if you destroy existing facilities? Or doesn't it make the slightest bit of difference. Those requirements are going up in leaps and bounds now, I need to have something like 56,000 people or something before I can purchase my next factory; it's been useful to destroy decorations or smaller entertainment/housing facilities in order to keep the electricity and admin building requirements down, so I'm wondering if there's a way to keep the population requirement to a more manageable amount as well?
And did anyone make it to the other side of that cordoned off area to the east, yet? (The place with all the barbed wire?).
Well, it'll be a while before I'm ready to take on the bridge or port tasks, I think (only on level 28 or something so far - and mightily impressed with myself that I actually managed to complete the Bronze Bull special event this week); but great to share hints, tips and moral support somewhere (and curse about the continued demands for real cash that this game often seems to require if you want to progress anywhere! :-)

I am on the hydro plant and not going to finish on time. 4 days 11 hours left and still on phase 2 part 1. You need to upgrade 3 tennis courts. Still making granite and limestone for last 2 and then 6 hr upgrade. Since it looks as though I won't finish on time I won't waste my city credits on speeding up the stone. Just a heads up..have on hand when you start this. I had to collect 15 suitcases which took almost 3 days to get them. This are a just a money making pit for GI. Not going to stress over getting them done on time.

Holy macaroni, I need even more hammers than I thought. I was collecting them to upgrade my night cafe, the last premium building I need to upgrade.
To upgrade 3 tennis courts you need 72 trowels (I have only 60), 48 hammers (I have only 28), 9 granite and 6 limestone.

How do you collect suitcases? From people or from buildings?

Thanks to everyone that has kept us updated on the requirements for all the new buildings!!!! Without them it would have been impossible for me to complete them in the 10 day bonus time. Now I know not to even start them until I have started stockpiling certain items :)

They drop from any building you collect coins from. And very slowly I might add.

Welcome Steve. Yes land costs grow exponentially along with time to complete. The game is very addictive with many, many things to do. So plan out your strategy and try not to try too many things at once, it will only get you knotted up. It's a very addictive game and IMO one of the best ones out there....enjoy.

The port has a 20 hour limit for collecting goods. Bonuses are given out for filling all the containers. If you want to send out the ship early, it will cost 10 city credits.

I can only imagine.....any screenshots you can share of the finished article so we can see what a working port looks like? I'm on the 550 energy stage and will complete by end of today...

Thanks, trowel sent!

Welcome, sent a trowel back. Now I've got drills but cannot send them "today" which is a rather ambiguous term in the BB universe. Boy, do I hate their gift system.

@Rickmondo

Hey, I have Rickville among my friends in Megapolis. Is that you?
