Apps & Internet data allowance

Im new to the iPad as I've only had it a few weeks and am still unsure of some things,apps which you log into, like
Facebook, MySpace, twitter, Flickr, when your not using them if you stay logged in does this still use your data allowance any help would be great

If you are not using wifi then staying logged in to the internet will use some of your 3G data allowance. However, I suspect you don't have to worry about it unless (a) you have a VERY low ceiling on your data plan or (b) you are very close to the ceiling. You won't be charged for downloads unless a download actually occurs and with the sites you've mentioned, the downloads are very likely to be small text updates in any case. You could probably stay logged in to each of the sites you've noted above (without using them) for a full month and have a minimal effect on your data allowance.
