Any good free word processing app?

I am quite surprised that I can't find a good free word processing app!

All I want just ability to apply basic formatting like bold-italics-underline, few fonts, text coloring etc.

That's all. No fancy image/table/columns/footnote etc.

Is there any free app which offers these features?


PS: I found an app called "Documents 2 free" which offers basic text/spreadsheet capability. Strange enough while its spreadsheet part offers formatting, the word processing bit does not!

PPS: I knows proper word processing apps are not too pricey, but I'm asking for bare minimum - so I expecting a free app for it.

No, a bare minimum would be a text editor, like the free one that comes with the iPad, Notes.

Do you have Internet access?

If so, Google Docs, or even any forum will let you type text, format it. Once finished, you would only need to copy/paste the text into your desired app.

I bought Office 2 HD (£5) as that was the cheapest I could find.

Now at least I have basic word processing and spreadsheet capabilities in iPad.

It's a shame that so many apps there yet no free rich text editing application.
