Apple could be preparing to increase the resolution of its devices even more, according to a new report from Ming-Chi Kuo analyst. In 2014, we could see Apple launch in the market a redesigned 12-inch MacBook with an "ultra-slim clamshell form factor" and a high-resolution display along with a new 9.7-inch sixth-generation iPad that would have a higher pixel count than the current Retina Display.

Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will launch the sixth-generation iPad in late 2014, and it will have its resolution display increased by 40 percent more. He said the following in a new research note:

“Contrary to speculation that next year’s iPad next year may come in a 12†form, or larger, we think it will not change from the current 9.7†format as we think a 12†iPad would not provide a good mobility experience given today’s technology limitations. In light [of] advancing Oxide and a-Si technologies, the PPI of iPad 6, which we expect to come out at end-2014, will exceed that of 2013’s iPad 5 by 30-40%, which will offer more competent visuals. “

When referring to the iPad Mini, Kuo believes that the second-generation iPad mini will adopt a Retina display that will be left unchanged with the introduction of the third-generation iPad mini.

I have to be honest, the display is the last thing the iPad needs upgraded! But, so be it.
