Access SD Card

How can I access a SD Card with non jailbroken (ie without iFile)?

I am on iOS5 and wait for the untethered jailbreak.

I have a camcorder which records formats read by OPlayer, Good Player... But not natively by the iPad, so Camera Roll does not recognise these videos when I plug in the SD Card or when I plug in the camcorder as a self powered USB flash drive.

I suspect that you can't and you will have to upload them to your pc / mac and then sideload them into your video player in iTunes.

You can only access an SD card via the Apple Camera Connection Kit and only then for still photos (not even video). Data is a non no.

The all point is to view videos on vacation, so without a Mac/PC nearby.

I really do not understand Apple on this. They allow third parties Players to play such formats (if imported by wifi or any other matter) and they allow the use of an SD Card (so no power or voltage issues). So why not allow these third parties players to access the card????
