Sonos's iPhone Controller app has already proved to be very popular, so now the company has launched a version of its dedicated music controller that has been specifically optimised for the iPad's larger screen. The free app enables you to view your rooms, your music, and what songs are playing - all at once, and all from the comfort of your trusty sofa - in landscape or portrait mode. You can also search for your favourite artist or track using the virtual keyboard, and browse through albums by pointing and flicking. If you feel like playing DJ, you can browse, search, and drag and drop to create playlists. You can even give yourself a fancy DJ name if you want, but that doesn't come with the app!
Although the app is free of course, and can be downloaded here, you'll need to have a Sonos music system in order to use it, and that will set you back around £350. Judging by the glowing reviews on the App Store though, those lucky enough to own a Sonos system are delighted with the iPad app interface and say that it works better than buying an extra controller for their system.
