According to a report on MacRumors today, the forthcoming iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, and iPhone 6 will all have fingerprint sensors. It seems that Apple supplier Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has shipped the first batch of sensors for all three Apple products, according to cecb2b.com, a component website.

MacRumors writes that the fingerprint sensors supplied by TSMC are being assembled by two of the company’s subsidiaries, Xintec and Suzhou Crystal Semiconductor.

As MacRumors notes, this backs up a previous news story from the very credible KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said a few weeks back that both the iPad Air and Retina iPad mini would be getting Touch ID, along with the iPhone 6.

Clearly, with these devices not due to launch until much later in the year, Apple is already ensuring that it has a good supply of fingerprint sensors for all devices, as supplies of the iPhone 5s were affected last year by the initially limited supply of fingerprint sensors.
