VLC is a popular multimedia content viewer app that you have probably heard about. The iOS version of VLC has been recently updated with a new user interface for iOS 7, along with other improvements.
VLC for iOS is a port of the free VLC media player to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. It can play all your movies and shows in most formats directly without conversion. It allows file synchronization with Dropbox, GDrive, iTunes, direct download and through an embedded upload web server as well as streaming from UPnP media servers. VLC on iOS is completely free and open source.
Among the features that version 2.2.0 brings, here are some of the most important ones – Google Drive integration and Dropbox streaming, new multitouch gestures, improved library for TV Shows and Audio, better UPnP integration with downloading support, a startup tutorial, new streaming formats and protocols. Also, the WiFi upload has been rewritten so it should be quicker now. You can also improve your privacy by using the new Passcode Lock feature. The VLC app for iOS comes with a size of 24.6MB and can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
