MacStories reports that spoof website The Onion has launched its own iPad app today, very appropriately on April Fool’s Day! The free app is basically just an iPad version of the website: you can read the stories, share them with your friends and watch the videos, all in-app. Like MacStories says, they don’t appear to have done anything too spectacular or different with the app, it’s really just more of the same, but it just makes it a little easier for you to browse through the features and videos at your leisure, or to “swipe it, poke it, berate it,†as the typically Onion-esque iTunes description would have it. The iPad app also obviously makes it easier to send your favourite articles or videos to friends via the social networking features. No word about any other iPad extras from The Onion, but maybe they have plans to do something a little more interactive further down the line. Either way, it’s still a fun read as it is.
