hey all.
So im a new apple user. Just bought my first apple product - iPad 16gb 4g..
Im from JHB, South Africa and Im going to be travelling to India soon.
Does anyone have information about getting a micro-sim and data in India?
I believe there are some new laws regarding sim cards since those terrorist attacks.

Any references/information will be most appreciated.

thanks.

Thanks Leelai

I believe one can buy a micro sim at the Mumbai airport from the Aircel shop and one only requires a passport and additional photo.
The Vodafone site says they require proof of residence. I wonder if all cellular providers in India now require this (since the attacks).

If anyone else is looking for info, i found these:

I now have the forums app installed. Thanks.
Tips and tricks were good :)

Thanks again.

You have to submit your Identification
Proof and address proof. Micro sim is available with every service provider. You only need to check the speed in ur place

The best alternative is to have a relative or friend in the destination country you will be going (like in your case it is India). In this way, you can have his/she sim card for some time until you leave that country and then return it. You will have to cut the sim and it is best to visit the store of that service provider. When you leave the country, tell your friend to purchase another sim on the same number (and politely give some money for it).
