Tablet sales aren't as explosive as perhaps one year ago, but overall shipments are still growing. This is what market research firm IDC said in its most recent report.

Q4 2013 saw 53.8 million units ship worldwide, up 11.5 percent from 47.6 million the same quarter last year. Apple is still number one, despite the fact that its iPad sales are decreasing.

As you can see in the above tablet, Apple had a share of 22.8%, followed by Samsung with 18.3% and on the third place is Asus with 6.5%, while Lenovo finds itself on the 4th with just 5.7%. It's worth taking into account that IDC says 'other' manufacturers account for a massive 41.8%, which speaks for itself about the plethora of Android makers out there.

All the top 3 OEMs have seen their market share go down. Apple dropped to 22.8 percent market share from 29.2% while Samsung slipped to 18.3 percent from 19.3%. It's worth pointing out that Samsung has actually shipped more tablets than in 2013.
