Some really silly questions!

Hi - new to this Board and also about to take the plunge and purchase my 1st Ipad.

First question - do I go for the Ipad 3 16gb or an Ipad 2 32gb? I will use it for reading books, surfing the net, calendar and newspapers and my son will no doubt want lots of games and educational stuff/games.

Here's the really daft question - once I download an app that I like, do I then need to have internet access (wifi) everytime I want to use the app?

If I want to watch a film, do I again need to have a wifi connection, or can I request/download the film and then watch it without wifi?

Well your first question is really a personal preference but having said that you don't realize when you first get an iPad, all the wonderful things it can do for you. You mention movies below and these do tend to take up the most space. So I would recommend getting the biggest you can afford. There are some great deals going on the ipad2 at the moment too, so you need to weigh this against the new iPad which has some extra features, like better screen, and cameras. I have an ipad2 and couldn't justify getting the new one though. others will chime in with their thoughts.

It depends on the app on whether or not you need wifi to use it. If its a stand alone game, meaning you're not playing against an opponent or building a city or such, no you won't need wifi. Can you tell us what apps you are talking about here.

And yes if you download a movie, you will not need wifi to play it.
