I am a new-bee and learning. I have downloaded Skype and the auto rotation does not work. Is this normal

I would say yes. Mine is the same due to the camera being on top.

Skype is an iPhone app, those are always orientation locked,

If Skype should ever recognize that the iPad has been released and some people even use it, can we expect an iPad Skype app supporting automatic orientation.

The auto rotation works once you are in a call.

Um-m-m,,, in my experience, auto orientation works on the iPad with lots of iPhone apps.

That is strange. Here it does. But, only when in a call. Not the app itself
