Re yahoo messenger for ipad

Good afternoon everyone I m new to the iPad and have recently downloaded yahoo messenger for iPad and there doesn't seem to be an emoticon for buzzing your recipient,any help appreciated thank you..

Shake the device to buzz. To make sure that is enabled, click the gear symbol in the upper corner of the app.

Hi thank you for the response have been away so only just picked up.dont want to sound thick but what gear symbol?do you mean on the yahoo mess contact page?

I cant find a setting that allows an alert to sound when i receive a message through yahoo messenger.
