The Imitation Game (2014) is a recent film about Turing and his team's efforts to break the German enigma code - brief synopsis below from IMBD - excellent reviews & numerous nominations - recommended! Dave :)

Yesterday, Susan & I spent the afternoon at the Arts & Crafts area of Gatlinburg, TN - in a Native American gift shop, I saw a number of 'Indian t-shirts' - the one below gave me a chuckle (I added the names at the bottom for clarity - of course, any number of famous Native American leaders over several centuries could have been chosen) - as to a relationship, Sitting Bull was one of the leaders/inspirers of the 'combined' Indian forces attacking Custer and his men; Crazy Horse was another at Little Bighorn who might have been a better choice over Geronimo? Did not buy one - I own SO MANY t-shirts, virtually all collected on trips like this one. Dave :)

P.S. as I was looking for the images below, another t-shirt that tempted me even more is the third pic about 'Homeland Security' - ;)

The t-shirt looked good and love the 1492 date! Just got back home and now regret not buying one - Dave :(

P.S. for those interested, there are plenty of online sites, including Amazon.

James Smithson Dies in 1829 - Founding Donor of the Smithsonian Institution

James Smithson (1765-1829) bequeaths his estate to his nephew who died six years after his death without children. On July 1, 1836, the U.S. Congress authorized acceptance of Smithton’s gift, which amounted to $500,000 (over $12 million today - Source) - the first building completed was the Smithsonian Institution Building or the Smithsonian Castle - see quotes below w/ links.

The early 1970s was my first visit to Washington, D.C. (actually lived there for 3 months as part of my radiology training at the AFIP) - Susan & I have visited numerous times and need to return, several new museums have opened. Dave :)
