I just updated my iBooks. In the description it says there is nightvision.
    But just can't find it.
Can anybody tell me where I can turn it on?

Tap the icon that looks like two A's, this will bring up the options that you are looking for.

I am not sure how to get the update. I thought that I would get a notification, but did not. Do I have to go to the Appstore for it?

Thanks, Gunny! I appreciate it! I am feeling very neglectful of my Nook, since having the ipad! Poor thing!

Cant find it, alternativly you could go to settings, than to general than to accessibility, than to "triple-click home" far down. There click on "toogle white on black".

Now just go to ibooks and open the book or pdf you want to read. Just click on the home button for three times and you gt it
