Looking for RPG / strategy game for hours of play

Hi all, I am just wondering if anyone knew of a great RPG / strategy game that lasts a while. I am deploying soon and will not have Internet capabilities to be able to keep up with the iPad gaming scene. Thanks

If you like turn-based strategy games, you have to take a look at Highborn by Jet Set Games.
Good overall quality. It will keep you busy for some time.

Sid Meirs Pirates is awesome - put in loads of hours so far on first play through, like a combination of strategy and RPG.
