Lock Screen Always On mode? iPadOS17

Hi all, is it possible to set the lock screen to always on? I don't mean the regular iPad screen, I already have Display&Brightness/Auto-Lock set to "Never", but that setting does not seem to affect the Lock Screen which always turns off after a few seconds. Thanks

No, you can’t set the iPad to always on with the locked screen. So far only the iPhone 14 and 15 have this feature.

You have to buy one of the newer phones that supports the always on screen. It has something to do with the screen tech used, not just an OS update.
