Just bought an iPad 1 3g and like it !

Hi

I am an old guy but love gadgets almost as much as I like old cars

I have a bunch of laptops / netbooks and mostly use my Panasonic Toughbook

So the iPad is a bit of a learning curve , but after 1 week I am getting the hang of it

one thing I need to figure out is an free / cheap offline GPS with downloadable maps,

My iPad is 3G but I do not have a Sim card in it

Anyway I hope to learn some things

And if you know of any old VWs, Porsches or Sports cars that need a new home please let me know

Have a look at Nav free and Maps with Me has lots of maps too. You don't need a charged sim for the GPS to work either which is a big bonus.
