I am using the original IPAD and with a rode trip this month from ontario down through the maritime's looking for opinions on a GPS app for use on my IPAD. I have never owned a GPS to date and am not sure if I will have rogers coverage during the trip so maybe one with preloaded maps that can be used offline if needed. Thanks for any info or assistance, much appreciated.

Hello Paul, I hope your iPad is a 3G version, otherwise you won't be able to use the iPad as a GPS. With that said, I have found the Maps app that comes with the iPad is a very easy program to use on the road. For even more sophistication, I also use GPS HD MotionX. This app is not free but you can download maps ahead of your trip--while on wifi connection and the app will use these pre-down loaded maps when you get on the road.

Update: I decided, Paul to check on your posting history and saw in previous postings that you do have a 3G iPad. You can use your Maps app or GPS HD MotionX. Other members may have a better idea on which app they prefer.
