First Time Mac User

I have never used a Mac before and just received my new iPad2...go big or go home! Any one have any advice or tips for me?

Be sure to download the free iPad user guide from iBooks. Also there are lots of tutorials on the Apple site for the iPad 2 (Apple). Just click on the iPad link on top. Then scroll down to the how to videos. Also there is a lot of info on this forum. Just use the "search" feature at the top of the site. Welcome. Enjoy your iPad. I changed from PC's over three years ago to Macs. Great change.

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Congrats on your new "baby"...but just a tiny point of clarification. An iPad is not a Mac and vice-versa. "Mac" is short of Macintosh, the current line of computers made by Apple. The iPad, also made by Apple of course, is an iOS device.

So you could say "I have never used an Apple before..."

Not to pick nits...just sayin'.

BTW, I'm sure you're aware that the iPad is a "gateway device". Once you've tried it you'll want to move onto bigger and more powerful products to keep that "awesome user experience rush" going. It might be a used Macbook to start, then a Mac Mini, then an iMac...and so it goes. Don't say you haven't been warned!
