Composite Video Cable?

I bought a composite cable for my van and used it with my wife's Nano gen4 and my Touch gen1 without problems to play movies and videos to the kids in the back seats.

I tried it with my iPad 2 and I could not get the video to show in the van's monitors. Only the audio was played through the van's sound system. Is the a setting I missed to get the video to work?

I have the composite charge capable cable from apple and have used it with my iPhone 3GS initially but now works great with my iPad2. I get audio only with the Netflix app but purchased video content works fine.
