Box marked "other" on my itunes and how do i delete

Hi there, (This pertains to my iphone 3g)
I need some assist in deleting the box in yellow marked "other" on the Capacity graph. Firstly I have not a clue as to the content, making it more irritating is the 8.1GB's it's taken from my iPhone 3 g. Plz advise . Thank you in advance. Cheryl

Have you cleared out the error logs? Or do you have a lot of PDFs on the iPad?

Sorry I feel alittle embarrassed. Error logs????
And does it matter that its NOT an IPad , it's a 3G iPhone . ill be standing by.

Then it isn't error logs I bet... And yes knowing it is an iPhone makes a worlds of difference. Because my first instinct was to ask "Have you cleared all your old voice mails"

Launch Phone.
Look for "Deleted Messages".
Click on it.
Look bottom right.
Click "Clear All".

You can't delete everything in the Other box. Among other things, it contains the operating system.
