Black keyboard appeared on my iPad 2

I turned on my iPad 2 this morning and was greeted with a black keyboard. It was on the first screen (slide to unlock) and remained there. I can not type with it. I cannot hide it. I tried holding the hide button and that did not work. I do not have any pirate apps or software. Any help would be appreciated.

OK So I did a hard reboot. Held the power off button in until the slide to screen appeared. Once it came back everything is back. Hope this helps someone.
I do not know what I did to cause it.

When you set a longer password for security, the iPad presents a black keyboard (instead of a number pad) when you unlock it. Since it went away with a reboot I can only guess it was a glitch that caused the keyboard to appear.
