According to a recent press release sent out by retailer BestBuy, it seems that Apple will be making the Apple Watch available at more than 100 Best Buy stores in the U.S. on Aug. 7. Thus, BestBuy becomes the first major outlet to carry the Watch outside of Apple's own stores. Jason Bonfig, senior category officer at Best Buy, said the following:
"The Apple Watch is a big addition to our stores and website, and we know our customers want it. We are excited to bring the Apple Watch to more consumers, especially with the holidays coming up.”
BestBuy customers will be able to see, try and buy 16 Apple Watch models – including Sport and Watch models in both 38mm and 42mm sizes – and nearly 50 accessories, including watch bands, screen shields, stands, chargers and more.
The retailer will also expand the availability of the Apple Watch to over 300 outlet before the lucrative holiday shopping season. Since the launch of its smartwatch, Apple has limited sales to its own online and brick-and-mortar outlets, international pop-up shops and a few token third-party boutiques. But now by partnering with such a big retailer as BestBuy, Apple will extending the Watch availability to a broader customer base, thus ensuring that its sales are increasing.
