My ipad2 shows I have 3.6GB of used memory on camera roll and yet there are no photos on my camera roll. How can I restore this memory?

My ipad2 shows I have 3.6GB of used memory on camera roll and yet there are no photos on my camera roll. How can I restore this memory?

At times it happens to my iPhone, but when I turn it off, and switch it on again, everything works fine. LOL

Were there photos on the iPad before? Did you delete them? Maybe they are still in the trash. Empty that.
