"How does iPad 2 camera focus?
Auto-focus is one of the iPad camera features. It focuses it upon a specific area of the screen for both photo and video.
When the camera is working, it will automatically center upon an object or person in a screen shot. You can see that is highlighted by a large white box with a glowing blue outline on the screen. To enhance and improve the quality of the specific area in the photo or video, the iPad 2 adjusts the exposure and the white balance within the highlighted region.
If you want to change the auto-focus selection, simply tapping the person or object on the screen with your finger."
