Videos and photos synced from PC cannot be found

I have synced both videos and photos from my PC and iTunes which are recognised in the general settings of my iPad in the about heading. However, when I go to open them through the Videos and Photos icons it states that I do not have any items.

It seems that the files must be hidden so can anybody help me with instructions on how to find the files.
