I'm new here. Just bought my first apple product, an ipad 2.
having only used windows based systems for the last 15 years, it's
taking some getting used to. I like it's portability but it is not a replacement for a real computer. I'm finding many limitations and unlike a windows system, there is a lot of apps that I would like, but many are not free. Overall I do like it. I do expect that over the years, software upgrades will be available but suspect apple will charge for them.

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

It took a little getting use to but once you get the hang of the ipad you are hooked. As for the apps, I use 148apps.com and appshopper mostly for looking for apps. I have one app that was $19.95 and I got it free and another for $14.95 free. So you have to check daily. I am not too much into games but they have tons of price reductions and freebies everyday. Of course, it changes every day so you might see something and by the time you find what you like the app price changes. I check every morning and evening. Like I posted I am a appaholic!
