transferring email contacts from wondows live to iPad

I've just purchased an iPad 2 and have been able to set it up except for one thing. I cannot get my email contacts copied from windows live on my PC across to my iPad. Please help me before I tear my hair out!

Windows Live? That is the same as Hot Mail, yes? If so, this may help.
