9to5 Mac reports that Nintendo is hoping to revive interest in Super Mario Run with a huge new update that includes a new world, as well as a temporary 50% price cut.
Due on September 29, the update includes World Star, a new world that features nine new levels, as well as support for playing as Daisy. World Star, which can only be accessed after you’ve completed worlds one to six, includes new enemies and “cool gameplay mechanics” according to Nintendo, as well as the usual pink, purple, and black coin-collecting challenges.
Also included in the biggest update yet for Super Mario Run is a new mode entitled Remix 10, which, as you might expect from the name, remixes and randomizes the game’s previous levels.
“Remix 10 is a frenetic new mode in which you play a set of 10 super-short sections from Super Mario Run’s existing levels in quick succession,” said Nintendo. “The stages are remixed with each attempt, and with rainbow-coloured bonus medals strewn across these bite-sized stages, it’s a fresh challenge every time.”
You’ll also now be able to listen to your own music while playing the game.
To coincide with the update Apple will also be reducing the game’s price by 50%, down to $4.99 from $9.99.
