Streetview in googles web app?

Google Adds Street View to Web-Based Google Maps for Mobile Devices - Mac Rumors

According to that article, you can tap anywhere on the screen and the streetview man appears. I cant get it to appear

You need to search for a place and then the icon appears.

I got it working, but boy is it unresponsive. Very hit and miss. Roll on the official app
