Sling player app for Ipad

Hi I'm new to forums & just need some guidance, hpefully im creating this thread correctly. i have new ipad, bought before latest upgrade, & its a gift for someone who has a slingbox, but would like to try to get the sling player app for it. apologize if im being forward, can someone direct me to best place to get it? would prefer not to jailbraik ipad as i;m not too tech saavy, thanks!

If you have an iTunes account yourself you can purchase it that way via the app store on your computer and send it as a gift. When you give the iPad to this person they will be required to create or enter in their Apple ID and password. So you will not be able to put it on the iPad yourself otherwise it will be deleted. Or you can simply include an iTunes gift card with it.
