Hi All

My new iPad came with IOS 5 ready installed and I am fine with it.

Question is,in the updates folder there is an update to IOS 5.1.1,should
I install this or leave well alone while the iPad is working?

Thanks

Alan

Unless you are jail broken, go right ahead and update. Running the latest version is recommended.

Thanks for the quick reply,no it's not jail broken.

Reason for asking was that I had read some horror stories about
upgrades and how they could mess up the iPad.

you'll always hear horror stories about every thing. normal ios5 (like you're on) included. quite normal. cant expect all those millions of users to get 100% garanteed perfection. saying that, probably a good 99% of us do though.

so yes, back things up first then upgrade. upgrading is always the best policy.

iOS 5.1.1 has been out a while now. Many millions have updated. It's not a problem.

I may be criticized for this, but I say always update no matter what you hear.

Fully agree, unless you are considering jail breaking at a time when there is no JB for the latest OS.
