Sending text to a cell phone from ipad not an email ? App for that?

I tried textfree then saw that there is a charge to the users phone if they text you back to iPad. Not so text free.

You gotta be kidding.

That's like being offered a free cellphone then saying it's not so free because people who call you have to pay for their calls.

Text to a cell phone app?

Try the Chikka client (you can download it at the AppStore). Not really sure if it works everywhere since I've only tried using it around Asia. You have to register for an account but after that, it's free to use.
