Searching iPad

My husband wants to search his bookmarks because he has so many and can search them using Finder on his MAC. Is there a way to do this?
Also I tried using the search iPad function to find documents that he has in Dropbox on the iPad and they don't come up. The search seems very limited then. Am I doing something wrong?

Spotlight search is very limited but should search bookmarks from safari.
As for Dropbox, it doesn't go that deep.

So are you talking about the search when you swipe to the right and it fills the screen?

Like I said, it only goes into the apple apps like mail and calendar. It won't search within other apps.
